Honda has issued a safety recall on the 2017 Civic due to an issue with the right half-shaft.
According to Cars.com, the right half-shaft was improperly heat-treated, decreasing its strength. This malfunction can result in the half-shaft breaking which could prevent the engine from moving the vehicle.
The error can also cause the vehicle to roll away from its intended spot if the parking break is not fully engaged.
The Honda Civic recall affects approximately 5,400 vehicles in the U.S.
